My Story

My Healthcare journey started after high school, going to college for Physical Therapy. I really never went to a Physical Therapist, but it was suggested to me to try out because I would be able to work with children. That had always been my one requirement for what I wanted to do with my career. After not getting accepted to a graduate program right off the bat, I started working at a Chiropractic office. Again, I had no idea what Chiropractic was all about either, but I figured it would look good on my resume for Graduate school next time around. But to my surprise, I fell in love with Chiropractic as a whole. Everything that they said and did made so much more sense than what I had been exposed to through the typical medical system. After 8 months of working in this office, I applied to go off to Chiropractic school myself, because I knew this is what I was supposed to do.

Going down to Marietta, Georgia to Life University was the first time I had left Ohio and my family. It was a scary jump at first, but it was the best decision I have ever made. Schooling was rough, taking about 28 hours a quarter, on average. I graduated a quarter early, with Summa Cum Laude, in the top 5% of my class. Not only that, but I also attended over 50 seminars on the weekends while at school, which really let me hone in my technical skills as an adjuster. They only teach you the basics at school and most of my knowledge and skill came from these outside seminars that I attended. I was grateful to have a small group of friends at school who not only went to these seminars with me, but trained the information and skills at different training clubs throughout the week.  I am still attending seminars to continue growing in my craft.  There is never an end to training, when you are dealing with the complexities of the human body.

Returning to Ohio was highly due to my family still being here. I grew up in Beavercreek my entire life and family is my number one priority, so I knew I had to return. Being able to serve my community that I was raised in has been a wonderful experience and I am so glad I get to use Chiropractic care to do that with. As I mentioned before, pediatrics had always been my passion. Pregnancy and the birthing process is not only difficult for the mother, but for the child as well. Making sure their nervous system, which is the first thing to develop neurologically in utero, is working properly, is so important. The nervous system controls all other systems and functions of your body and is even more important for those first few years of neurological development. I'm sure I will talk your ear off about all of this and more as our relationship grows in the office. My job is to not only assist your body to do what it does naturally through adjustments but to educate you on the importance of living a healthy, proactive lifestyle to keep your health for years to come.

What To Expect: If you have ever been to a Chiropractor where you felt like you just laid down, got cracked and were sent on your way, your experience at Fun Chiropractic will be different. Making you feel heard and at home is my goal. You are a different person every time you lay on the table. You have had new experiences, thoughts, and feelings since the last time you came in. Your adjustments will not look the same each visit. Depending on what has happened since your last visit and how your system is feeling that day you might need more or less input to your nervous system. Unwinding your torsion and tension in your nervous system is the goal to allow for proper communication between your brain and your body. I use many different techniques to do this including manual adjusting, drop table, activator, tonal, extremity work and more. Again, depending on what I am feeling is best for you at that time, will determine what, when and where I adjust. I will do my best to walk you through everything that we are doing if it is new and to explain the process and what I am feeling in your system at that time. If you ever have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Services

Pediatric Care: A lot of people do not know that babies and kids get adjusted. In my opinion, this is the most important time to get your nervous system checked and make sure everything is working the way it is supposed to.  Pregnancy and the birthing process can be a lot of stress on not only the mother, but the baby as well. Not only that stress, but medical interventions as well, such as forceps, vacuum delivery or C-section, can cause a significant misalignment of the upper neuro vertebrae. The nerves that come out of that area are what allows the baby to turn their head, latch, bond, and feed from the mother. Latching issues, digestive issues, ear infections, sleeping troubles, constipation, and development delays all can be affected because of that misalignment and lack of communication between the brain and the body.  Pediatric adjustments look very different than adjustments for adults. For newborns, it takes the pressure to check the ripeness of an avocado to influence and change the adaptability of your child's nervous system.  I love talking and educating people on the importance of Chiropractic care for newborns and children, so don’t hesitate to bring up any concerns or questions!

Prenatal Care: As mentioned, pregnancy takes a lot of effort for the mother to literally grow another human being. Making sure that the mother's nervous system is well regulated during this process is crucial in the organization and development of the child. The very first thing to develop in utero is the brain and spinal cord (Central Nervous System) which starts in the very first month! Not only that, but getting the pelvis and sacrum aligned and moving correctly may allow for optimal room for the baby inside the womb during pregnancy and can help reduce labor times and complications. So getting care before, during and after pregnancy is very helpful for both the mother and baby.

Family Wellness Care: Our society is so busy and stressful now and that has quite the effect on our nervous system. Staying in a state of sympathetic dominance for extended periods of time will cause a decrease in communication in your nervous system and cause your body to not work as effectively as it should. Getting adjustments will help your adaptability to the outside world so you can deal with the stresses of life better. The amount of care recommended depends on what is going on in your daily life and how well you deal with those stressors.
